What we do
Most months we undertake a group visit with the aim of focussing (pun intended!) on a location, subject and/or technique e.g. nature, architecture, historical sites, etc. Occasionally we set a topic challenge for the month to be completed independently (no meeting).
Each month a group member (or two) undertake to select an activity/site and organise the visit - see Meeting Schedule below. Photographs are then submitted for display on our website.
Each year before Christmas we organise an anonymous Image of the Year non-competitive competition. Firstly, voting within the group and then opening voting up to our whole u3a membership.
MEETING START TIME
The group has had a nominal start time of 2pm. However, for practical reasons we rarely actually meet at 2pm.
Therefore, in future we will leave the timing as 'varied' to suit the event.

It is proposed to move the Image of the Year 2026 to the Group meeting now on Monday 11 January 2027, and for all member voting at the Members’ meeting on Tuesday 26 January 2027 with hopefully results announced at the end of that meeting. This means that we will also need a new activity for Monday 21 December 2026 – any suggestions?
