35 members of our u3a travelled on a coach through wind, rain and very heavy traffic, to Milestones Living History Museum in Basingstoke.

Here we took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, with an insight of life in the past. With the smells of the blacksmith’s workshop, cobbled streets, homes with an outside loo, shops, workshops, the fire station and much more to see.

There were themed caravans, yesteryear engines and vintage vehicles on display. Then stopping off to have a drink in the Baverstock Arms and visiting the sweet shop to buy a ration of sweets to last the week.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
