What we do
The ‘Macs and Wellies’ Garden Group formed during 'lockdown' when we could meet in groups of 6 OUTDOORS, hence 'Macs and Wellies'.
The aims of the group are to meet in each other’s gardens or allotments, at nurseries or garden centres and at RHS Hyde Hall for those that are RHS members in order to discuss plants, pruning, cuttings, seed sowing etc.
- Possibly chat about personal plans for our own gardens over the next week, month, year or longer term.
- Perhaps the opportunity to initiate a seed or plant exchange.
- Or any other horticultural activity that’s of interest.
From our very modest beginnings our little group has begun to flourish. We currently have in excess of 30 members and meet monthly at Hyde Hall and in an ad-hoc basis in member's gardens.
In recent year we have run an annual Grand Garden Trail in June/July with group members opening their gardens for all members - and tea and cake!
