WALKING OVER 5 MILES

As Doreen and I were away in Scotland, Fred kindly offered to lead the walk.
Thirteen members met at Benfleet Station at 11.30 in order to catch the train to Leigh on Sea and walk through old Leigh , along the cinder path to Chalkwell and then following the coast path to Rossi's ice cream parlour for a refreshment break before continuing to Southend High Street to visit some of the amazing murals that have been painted. Having visited a few of the many murals ,lunch was taken at Tomassi's restaurant in the High Street. Two more members who were not able to walk met us for for lunch.
The weather was sunny around 24 degrees and covered around 4.5 miles.
