The Benfleet High Road Christmas lights
![]() | Castle Point Council decided in 2017 there was no money available for a Christmas tree in the High Road, so for the last 8 years a small group of Benfleet residents have organized the Christmas lights along the High Road and the large Christmas tree outside the Oasis Church. The Benfleet Christmas Action Group raised money to purchase lights and a large Christmas tree to add a festive feel to the High Road. They put collecting jars in shops, ran quiz nights, curry nights, pool parties and afternoon teas. After the first few years it was difficult raising the £2,000 needed each year to put the lights up. We decided to ask businesses in the High Road to contribute. Many happily give money to make the High Road festive. |
| If you would like more information kindly get in contact with Sue using Website Coordinator webmail in the first place and she will pass your enquiry on. Benfleet Christmas Action Group is on Facebook. If you wish to contribute to the Christmas lights in the High Road. Our Bank details are: Santander sort code 09-01-29 A/C 25599053. The turn on of the Christmas lights this year will be
Friday 27th November at Benfleet School playground starting at 6pm
with the choir singing at 6.30pm and the lights being turned on after that.
