202511 Wildlife Lake Meadows

WILDLIFE: Thursday 13 November 2025; Visit to Lake Meadows

Good afternoon everyone

We were very lucky with the weather for our visit to Lake Meadows last Thursday as it poured down the next day!  There was such a beautiful array of colours with the trees dressed for autumn.

There was a conservation area fenced off along the path which was covered in different types of nettles and would be nice in the summer to see what insects are attracted to the flowers that sprout.

Unfortunately the car park is no longer free and a charge of £1.60 gives you 2 hours parking.  There are toilets and a really nice cafe which is not expensive and has a big choice of goodies.

There were a lot of Canada geese on the lake along with Coots, Moorhens and Black headed gulls along with three Cormorants drying off in a tree.

Other birds seen or heard:- Long tailed Tit, Magpie, Wood Pigeon, Blue Tit, Robin
