The group met opposite Hope Road for the footpath to the Golf Course in the High Road.

Due to recent rain the path was a little sticky but not too bad. We followed the path to Underhill Road ,walked to the end and entered Thundersley Glen and then up to Shipwrights Woods to see the bluebells. The bluebells were a bit disappointing as they were past their best but it was still good to see, From there we walked along Benfleet Road to pick up the path to The Hub Cafe on Benfleet Downs.

After a refreshment break in the sunshine we returned along the top path of the Downs to have a really good lunch at the Anchor Pub.  We have enjoyed meals here a few times but unfortunately the manager Mick has cancer so will be leaving along with his sister Sue who have both been there over 30 years. the new owners will be taking over in May.

There were sixteen people on the walk.
