What is the Benfleet u3a?
We are a local community organisation with 300 members, for anyone no longer in full-time employment who has navigated life's major challenges of work and family but want to be active, learn new skills, follow their interests and make new friends locally.
As a local charity, we are focussed on activities and topics reflecting Members' interests.
In the UK, there are over 1,000 local u3as, coordinated and supported by The Third age Trust
Where is Benfleet?
On the South East coast of Essex, overlooking the Thames and located within the Castle Point Borough Council area.
Benfleet (Beamfleote) is over 1,100 years old and is known for the Battle of Benfleet 894, St. Mary's Church (12th C), it's position for London rail commuters
.....and of course the friendliness of it's residents.
Our monthly Members' Meetings are held at Richmond Hall behind the shops on the High Road.
